Bobby Bones is moving to...Nashville

Ok, this week my world was slightly rocked when Bobby Bones announced his radio show was moving from Austin to Nashville.

Bobby Bones is a local radio DJ/morning talk show host. For the last 10 years he has been located in Austin. When I first moved here and I found his show, I thought it was so awesome. They talked about a lot of the same things that I cared about and they helped familiarize me with my new city.
I know, I know. It is just a radio show. But, through the years I have found myself retelling my husband something that happened on the show, or my sister and I would go to a restaurant just because Bobby was talking about it that morning. I felt like I really knew them.
I remember listening to a podcast after Bobby’s mom had died. I didn’t know why they were all so emotional and I ended up texting one of my friends asking her what had happened. I felt sad for Amy (one of Bobby’s co-hosts) as she and her husband have tried to have a baby for the last 3 years without success.
I have quite a few friends who are much smarter than I am who dislike The Bobby Bones Show. Sorry my friends. I am not cool enough to listen to NPR. Truly, in the morning I just need to laugh a little.
I know their show will still be on locally via syndication. But, I don’t know if it will feel the same.  I know I will never have the chance to run into Bobby—as I saw him one time at Pluckers—but I was way too nervous to say hello.
On another note, I have a friend whose wife works for Clear Channel. She actually took some pics with Bobby and the cast on their last day on the station. I had to ask her husband for some of the inside scoop.
I wanted to know why Carlos (one of their producers was not moving with them.) According to my source, he had the chance, but decided to stay in Austin. His brother just had a baby and he wanted to be around for that.
I also wanted to know what would happen to Bobby and his longtime girlfriend. He thinks that Kara will end up moving out to Nashville.
He also said that Bobby will be a millionaire within a short period of time.
I just hope that he doesn’t forget about “us” in Austin. I also hope they don’t get super twangy.
We will see.
